Smooth Away Excess Skin. Reveal a Defined Body Contour.

It is natural for the skin to lose some of its natural elasticity with age or after significant weight loss. When this occurs, your midsection may become less firm and contoured, and you may be bothered by loose, hanging skin.

Fortunately, a Beverly Hills body lift (also known as a belt lipectomy) can very effectively elevate, shape, and contour the area. During surgery, Dr. Firouz will trim away excess skin and small deposits of fat to reveal a youthfully defined body shape.

The Benefits of a Body Lift

  • Smooth away excess skin from the midsection
  • Remove unwanted fatty deposits
  • Add beautiful definition to your waist, abdomen, thighs, hips, and buttocks

The Body Lift Procedure

Depending on the extent of the surgery, your lift will take between three to seven hours. It is done under general anesthesia, and the precise technique will be tailored to your body shape and desired results.

In most cases, Dr. Firouz will make an incision that runs from the thigh to the waist. It may even extend around the lower back and waist. If you want your thighs and buttocks lifted as well, an incision will be made along the buttocks crease.

Through those openings, Dr. Firouz will remove the unwanted fat and excess skin that’s creating a heavy and poorly contoured silhouette. He will pull the remaining skin tight and stitch it into place before placing drains to encourage the removal of excess fluids.

Your Recovery

It is important to follow your post-operative instructions carefully. It is essential to get plenty of rest and limit movement in the early days of your recovery.

The bandages that are applied after surgery will provide support and keep swelling to a minimum. Some pain as you heal is unavoidable, especially if you have a more extensive body lift. However, you should be able to manage these effects with oral pain relievers.

Body LiftFAQ

Am I a candidate?

Ideal body lift candidates are nonsmokers who are in good general health and at a stable weight. If you are considering pregnancy, you should wait to have a body lift until you are finished having kids, as future pregnancies can impact your results.

How long will my recovery last?

It depends completely on the extent of your surgery and how many body parts were involved. Dr. Firouz will clear you for activities during your post-operative appointments at our Beverly Hills office.

When will I see the results?

There is substantial swelling associated with a body lift, but most of it should subside within six weeks. At that point, you should have a clear idea of your results. With that said, it may be up to two years for your final results to become apparent.

How long will my results last?

As long as you lead a healthy lifestyle and avoid significant weight gain, your results should be very long-lasting.
