A well-done breast lift (or mastopexy) can produce a dramatic transformation. It can take years off your appearance and boost your confidence. The Benefits

  • Lift breasts that are sagging due to age and gravity
  • Restore breast volume that has diminished due to pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Align your nipples and areolas

The Procedure

Your breast lift surgery in Beverly Hills will be done under general anesthesia at a hospital or state-of-the-art surgery center. A highly customizable procedure, Dr. Firouz will tailor his breast lift approach to meet your needs. To begin, he will create an incision, opting for the smallest option possible to achieve your goals.

Through that opening, he will remove excess skin, reshape breast tissue, and reposition the nipple and areola. Once your chest has been lifted and shaped, Dr. Firouz will close the incisions to complete the procedure. The entire surgery will take one to three hours, and you will return home immediately to begin the recovery process.

The Incisions

There are three primary breast lift incision options available, and the one you choose will have a major impact on your results. During your private consultation for mastopexy at our Beverly Hills office, Dr. Firouz will walk you through the options and help you select the right one.

Anchor

Most breast lifts are performed using the anchor incision. With this approach, Dr. Firouz will create an opening around the areola, down the breast, and along the breast crease. He recommends this technique to correct substantial sagging and when patients are getting another surgery (such as a breast reduction) simultaneously. The anchor incision allows for the greatest lift, but it also produces the most scarring.

Keyhole

The keyhole incision is slightly less intensive than the anchor technique. For this opening, Dr. Firouz will make a precise incision around the nipple and down the front of the breast. It produces moderate scars and is best for women with less substantial sagging.

Donut

The donut incision is made around the areola only. It is the ideal option for women with small breasts and minor sagging. The primary benefit is that it results in very minimal, virtually imperceptible scarring.

Your Recovery

Immediately after your Beverly Hills mastopexy, Dr. Firouz will bandage your breasts to minimize movement and protect the incisions. Some discomfort is normal, but we will ensure you have medication to manage the pain.

During this time, it is important to rest, avoid strenuous activity, and limit your movement. After the bandages are removed, you will wear a special bra to support your breasts for several weeks as they continue to heal.

Breast LiftFAQ

Is breast lift surgery safe?

When it is performed by an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon, a breast lift is an extremely safe procedure. Dr. Firouz has the skill and expertise necessary to minimize the risks and keep you safe.

What is the difference between a breast lift and a breast reduction?

A breast lift is performed for women who want to elevate their breasts or return them to a more youthful position. A breast reduction is recommended for women who need to reduce their breast size due to back pain, shoulder pain, and an overall reduced quality of life.

How long will my results last?

You can expect the results of your breast lift to last up to 15 years.

Will insurance cover my breast lift?

It is possible that insurance will cover a portion of your breast lift. However, this surgery is generally viewed as cosmetic or elective. Dr. Firouz recommends contacting your insurance company to see if the surgery is covered or if it will apply toward your deductible.
