The Future of Hair Restoration

In the past, hair restoration required medication or surgery. With the emergence of exosome hair restoration, there is a new, minimally invasive approach that can restore fuller, thicker hair with minimal side effects and no downtime.

What are Exosomes and How Do They Work?

Exosomes are cellular components that contain growth factors and proteins, and can signal for cells to regenerate and detoxify. When injected into your scalp, exosomes encourage your hair follicles to rebuild and repair. It does this by stimulating hair follicles to enter and remain in the growth phase, so they can produce stronger, healthier hair.

Understanding Hair Loss

Each hair on your scalp grows out of a follicle, which cycles through the stages of growth over time. Each time a follicle passes through the growth cycle, it gets a little smaller and produces slightly more brittle hair.

Various factors can disrupt this hair growth cycle and cause it to stop, including hormones, genetics, and illnesses. When the follicles become dormant, hair growth ceases. As more hair follicles are affected, noticeable hair loss occurs.

The Four Stages of Hair Growth

  • The growth phase (anagen) lasts three to five years
  • The transition phase (catagen) lasts ten days
  • The resting phase (telogen) lasts three months
  • The shedding phase (exogen) lasts two to five months

The Procedure

During exosome therapy in Beverly Hills, Dr. Firouz will inject a serum containing exosomes, growth factors, cytokines, and mRNA into the thinning areas on your scalp. Once in place, these factors will encourage your hair follicles to enter and remain in the growth phase.

You will be able to resume your normal daily routine immediately after therapy. However, you should not wash the treatment area or expose it to direct sunlight for the first two to three days. Your results will be apparent within two months, and most of our Beverly Hills patients return yearly for maintenance injections.

PRP Therapy vs. Exosome Therapy

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and exosome therapy are both approaches that restore hair growth with natural cell components. However, there are important distinctions.

With PRP, we draw your own blood to isolate platelets that can encourage hair growth. With exosome therapy, the cell components are taken from donor tissues. There is no blood draw involved, and the treatment is quicker. Both are terrific options for men and women who want a natural and minimally invasive solution for hair loss.
